About the treatment
How IV therapy works
Because infusions are delivered directly into the bloodstream, they make the maximum amount of nutrients available as quickly as possible, bypassing the absorption issues or side effects that can come with traveling through the digestive system. That can be especially important for anyone dealing with nausea or digestive problems.
For people who have issues with absorption or digestion, intravenous treatment can definitely be more effective than taking fluids or nutrients orally. Even without those conditions, an IV can deliver the same fluids and nutrients faster and more efficiently, by bypassing the digestive system entirely.
Depending on the treatment, you can start to feel the effects within minutes, and the feeling can last several days. That can mean feeling better hours before an oral treatment would have kicked in.
A typical individual infusion takes about an hour. It may take slightly longer for larger groups that need more setup time.
Either can be beneficial, but we'd side with the old adage that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Hydration and nutrition before a draining event can help you feel better during it, and better the next day than you otherwise would have. You can even space two treatments across the two weeks leading up to the big day.

Your appointment, step by step
Once you've called or emailed us with your basic information, our medical professional will call you for a very brief health review. Your RN then arrives with your infusion already prepared, and administers it in the place of your choice.
From there it's up to you. Your nurse can keep you company throughout, or leave you in complete privacy to spend the time however you like.
Our infusions are generally safe for most people, and a medical practitioner consults with you beforehand to assess and review your health, both to help you choose the right treatment and to keep you safe.
Yes. We would administer a very basic IV, which can be very helpful during pregnancy. Hydration matters enormously, especially where an expectant mother is vomiting copiously. You'll be reviewed by our own medical professional, and we also recommend consulting your own provider.
Happily. We treat individuals and groups of all sizes. Just need a treatment yourself, in private? We'll set up in your living room, bedroom, office, even your airplane hangar. Have a wedding, a team outing, or a late night at work or play to prepare for or recover from? IV therapy is a uniquely efficient way to get a whole group where it needs to be.
Our IV infusion bags, along with the kits, tubing and flushes, are all non-PVC, DEHP-free and preservative-free.

No. Catharsis IV does not accept insurance at this time, and all services are billed directly to clients.
If you're seeking insurance-covered IV therapy, we can provide an insurance-friendly invoice for you to submit, as some providers may cover part or all of the service. We recommend checking with your provider first.
No. All prices on this site are final. Travel beyond 45 minutes, infusion time beyond an hour, weekends and late-night appointments are the only variables, and they're all listed openly on our IV therapy page.

Cancellation within three hours of your appointment, or after the nurse has left to travel to you, will incur a payment. The terms are set out clearly in our consent agreement before you book.
A note on safety
Our services are not a substitute for emergency care. All clients must disclose relevant medical conditions before receiving IV therapy, including but not limited to a history of kidney disease or failure, congestive heart failure (CHF), liver disease, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Certain conditions may require medical clearance or may be contraindicated. Results vary from person to person and cannot be guaranteed.
